HABITAT Commonly found in quiet waters of lakes and ponds. Usually found in permanent water of 1-4' in depth.  

CHARACTERISTICS Large, round floating leaves are leathery and have a distinctive slit on one side. Floating,  

showy flowers are white to pink, fragrant and bloom June through September.
